I just recently bought a new tower for my 2001 Tige 20i and put a floating rear view mirror on it, but i didnt know if i should put some type of rubber liner on the inside of the mirror clamp so it wouldnt not scratch or ruin the powder coat of the tower since the mirrir is machined aluminum. Also how do you keep the mirror from shaking/slowly moving... I heard your not suppose to tighten those bolts as tight as they can go do to that fact you may damage your tower and what not? How do all of you have your mirror set up? comments suggestions? thanks!

That's really all you to can do is screw down the set screw. I used electrical tape to line the tower but the set screw keeps it from floating. I don't see the problem you leave the mirror on the tower anyway at least the base mount. Just do a few test fit to see were it looks and works best and tighten that bad boy down....Gett'r done!!!
