Has anyone done this? I'm considering swapping out my existing one but I'm curious about how difficult the install is (stainless in particular) and how it wears over time.

Thanks,

Brent

Bending the stainless steel around the corners (two stern corners and the bow point) will be a real bitch.

Problem with Stainless Steel Rubrails is that if you happen to hit a dock or something, it'll bend whereas rubber can tolerate some hitting.

Don't do it, I hate my stainless steel rub rail. It's not nearly as functional as the good old rubber rub rails. It has nearly destroyed the uprights on my trailer, it's scratched from rubbing on stuff on docks/houseboats (even though I am careful), the sharp screws are destroying my $1k custom boat cover, I have cut my gut going over the side of the boat...

I don't even think it looks that much better.

Thanks for the info guys....exactly what I was looking for. I'll hunt down a good rubber one to put on when I pull the boat this fall. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried huting the forums for some but haven't found anything super helpful yet.

Thanks,

Brent
