I got a new digital camera and was wondering what ISO you use for taking shots of wakeboarding? I know that 80/100 ISO is for bright conditions. But does 800 work better for action shots? Tell me what speed you use for all those great pictures? Thanks for your input.

The higher the iso the more noise you will see. I would keep it low.

As wide as you can go in aperature.

Keep the speed at least over 1/500 (preferably 1/1000 or faster)

As low an ISO as you can for these other conditions

You have to make a decision between noise or blur if the lighting sucks. Work on panning if you have to go to slower shutter, but this will not fix all of the blurring, but makes pretty cool action shots; a little different than the typical stop-action type.

But I am no expert!!!

Kimmy,

Here's a "how to" article I wrote a few months back that you might find useful as you get into wakeboarding photography. It explains everything from camera settings like ISO and f-stops to how to shoot from different angles. Hopefully you find it helpful.
