hey guys, quick qustion. My new audio equipment is going to require a second battery. I plan on just adding a second battery to my stock lead based batt. through a perko switch. Can I add a AGM or gel battery to this, or do I need a second lead based battery?

Thanks for the help

You can but it isn't good for the life of the batteries. How old is your current battery? If it is 3 years old or older I would just go with 2 new of whatever style you decide. If it is a newer battery then just add a second lead/acid battery then replace both a couple years down the road.
