Well, I took the boat out for the first time this weekend. Immediately as I got the boat off the trailer I heard water flowing in. I thought I missed a plug or something like that. It turned out to be a crack in my heater core that was letting in a lot of water.

The dealership winterized the boat for me. Should I try and make them replace it for free? Any recommendations would be great.

Are they difficult to replace on your own? I just plugged the hose and we went out and enjoyed a great day on the water.

Thanks!

I have shutoff valves on both sides of the heater, just in case there is a problem. I have not had one in 8 years. The dealer messed up and needs to replace or repair your core. They are the expert professionals and this is why you hire them.

If you paid the dealer to winterize that is completely on them. Make them fix their mistake.

Lol its a typo Stazi! Malibu is sending a new core ASAP. Makes me feel good about buying from Malibu as they are willing to fix their mistake.

Good for you, I had the same issue a couple of years ago I got the run around with them saying I only paid for a motor winterization....WTF? They offered to replace it at their cost, which was still 75 bucks to me. So I said from now on ill do it myself. Got a core from our local NAPA, and installed the quick disconnects so that I can bypass the core in the future. Of course now that I do it I wont ever have that problem, but it was pretty easy and worth the peace of mind.
