I have an 06 x2 which uses those new rocker switches and I really can't stand them. I have had to replace almost every single switch. I have an outboard boat that uses ur typical switch (like the ones mastercraft used before) and they have never had a single problem). I guess it is a case of bling before quality. I love my mastervraft but man those switches really anoy me. Anyone else have problems with theirs?

I don't understand what is wrong with mine then, its probably because of saltwater use, but the salt water series brings the same ones.

Strange, these are probably the same Carling switches used bu everybody but with a cover that's bling'd for MC. What's breaking/going bad, the cover or switch?

the plastic peices that hold the switch keep breaking, they get brittle and break. But I have a boat with the regular carling switches which I have had for years without a single problem. The mastercraft ones even feel flimsy imo compared the the typical switches.

Manny, is it just the threaded ring that tightens down the switch? If so, you may be able to get some metal rings if they have the same thread. If that doesn't work just see if you can get a bunch of extra rings.

It's actually multiple different problems. On one of them the actual part where the ring threads into just cracked. I also had about 3 of them where the toggle switch just started feeling loose and eventually doesn't stay in position.

07' X2... no problem out of the switches. I did however just have a water hose bust. No biggi. I would like the ballast gauges to work a little better.

No problem with my '08 switches. When I had my '04 with the plastic switches, it took about 15 minutes of ownership for my son to rip one completely out.

Manny, how much does Mastercraft want for one of those switches?

THREAD JACK - Sean - that hose probably has a recall on it. Mine busted (07 X1) and there was a recall. Not a big expense but you can get a free one. Here is the info from MC :

"A number of issues regarding the 81845010 J-hose that connects the water circulating pump to the thermostat housing on certain 2007 model RTP-1 and MCX engines have been reported. The hoses may have a weak spot resulting from uneven distribution of the reinforcement material when the hose was molded. The failures typically occur early in the life of the engine and result in the hose splitting and leaking water into the bilge of the boat. Although the failure of the hose causes major inconvenience to the boat owner, there have been no cases of engine damage or other permanent damage resulting from the failure.

From the point at which the issue was raised, all of the hoses have been tested and identified by a red paint dot on the front of the hose. Hoses on 2007 RTP-1 and MCX engines prior to engine serial numbers137187 should be inspected and replaced as necessary."

BTW, I have no issues with my switches.

Manny, you're not crazy... I just picked up an 06 MC X30, I noticed that two of the dash switches are busted... The black plastic housing snapped on them.. They need to be replaced. Where do find these replacement switches? Mine are the two light switches on the dash.. I would like to stay oem MC if possible... Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, Dan
