I have an '86 Nauti 2001 and I put 2000 lbs of ballast in it plus 500-700 lbs of people. My OJ 13x13 wouldnt handle the weight so I bought an Acme 542(as was reccomended by Acme), but it is smaller than my OJ (the 542 is 13x11.5). Will it still give me decent hole shot and hold my speed well?

Isn't the second number the pitch? If so they are both 13 but the new one is a 11.5 pitch for a better hole shot. "lower in" I think your fine if so.

Lower the number the more hole shot and holding power you get with less top in speed.

I have that same prop on my Cal-Air that I run about 1500lbs of ballast in. The hole shot and holding speed are a lot better with the Acme than the stock OJ 13 x 13 4 blade prop that came with.

I actualy have the same top speed with the Acme and OJ (via handheld GPS) go figure.
