how in the heck do you come out of your boots when you are done with your set.. I got a set of drivers that are super nice and supportive and stiff.. but when I am done with my set... the booties comes out with my feet.. is that normal? any advice to make it easier to get out of??

I thought I was the only guy still using SS Drivers. It helps to fully loosen up both the upper and lower laces; you might also grab the tongues of both the boot and the liner and pull them forward to loosen them as well. I removed the black inner laces some time ago and haven't used them for several months. I usually grab the back of the boot with my thumb on the inside of the liner and my fingers on the outside of the boot. This helps to keep the liner in the boot as the boot comes off.

My booties usually come out when I pull my foot out...
I've had Drivers, D2's, and Floyds... the original drivers were by far the worst for getting the bootie in/out of the boot.

Someone mentioned glueing the bootie in the outside shell to keep it from leaving which Im sure would work just fine.

i have the 09 floyds and if i just loosen the laces my liners never come out

gluin ghte liners down is a good idea.. but what if you need to take the bindings off for any reason? what about drilling 4 holes in the booties where teh screws are? and gluing them in?

Paul, do you notice a support difference without the inner black laces?

I use the d2's and I like the fact that the socks come out of the booties, It saves my feet on those long walks at the cable park. If I lace them up tight then they don't come out when they are not suposed to.

Just make sure that they are unlaced all the way. Its still tough, but it makes it a little easier for sure.

here is a lleennggtthhyy youtube video i made with some suggestions/ ideas for the SS boots (using the D2 boots for reference)... it may or may not help you.

I personally would not recommend gluing the inserts in. it is nice to have them removable for drying at the end of the day, re-molding (if desired), easier release on crashes, etc. but that is just my opinion

I can't sense any difference in support without the inner laces, although I probably ride less aggressively than most SS riders. I got the idea of removing them from a previous post on this forum by another SS Driver user.

i made the lacing one continuous lace instead of two and that seems to speed the exiting process up

^^ good idea.. did you use the stock lases and just lace all the way through? or did you get new laces?
Old     (sidekicknicholas)      Join Date: Mar 2007       09-08-2009, 3:30 PM Reply
I did the same thing with my original drivers and the stock ones worked fine

hey guys i got the drivers as well and not blaming slingshot or anythign but the third or fourth time i ever wore them i tore my acl and since i work in physical therapy i know it was because something was pulling down on my leg which could be from the boots being to tight but i took the inside laces out and they are by far the best boots ever know but i wear my booties all day to love the pretty ladies on them
