I just got this email from Steve Bates...

"Bryan Hutton called me last night and did back to back...off the wake.. Toe 9, switch toe 9, heel 9.. Off the wake. I say off the wake again as that has never been done. Tino, Mikey Marsh, and Bryan are the only guys who have done wake heel 9’s...but to link them like that.. Wow.
No camera of course. He’s going out today to get it on video."

I'm sure I'll get smacked down for this, but I've never heard of Bryan Hutton. The top pros are going to be in trouble when relative newcomers are starting to throw down hammers like this 9-9-9 combo. Hope he can get it again for the camera.

Loren Bryan Hutton is a CWB rider I think he is from Kentucky, he is like 19 or 20 years old if I am not mistaking.

Man, wakeboarding is getting tooooo easy! Everybody and their dog can throw 7's and 9's these days. Heck, I even heard a rumor of some chick landing a 7. No wonder those skater kids don't like us.

eubanks no rumor nor cal's raquel hoffman has hit at least 3 toe 7's and has them on video

Laren, Innov is right, B-Hut is from Kentucky but is going to collage in Lakeland FL. This year was his rookie year on the pro tour (top 16) after nice run in Jr. men. Congrats Brian that's a sweet combo of tricks...

Maybe switch toe 9, toe 9, heel 9? I know I'm picking the order apart, but I dont see how you stick a switch toe 9 and go to a regular heel 9, back to back. I'm not doubting it one bit and am very impressed with a heel 9 wake to wake, let alone back to back. congrats

Brian Hutton is a great kid from a great family and an amazing rider. At the end of the year banquet, rusty got on the mic and thanked the likes of Philip and the newcomers like Brian Hutton and Nic Jones for pushing the sport. Great Job Brian!

He also does one of the nicest heel 7's in the business!

nsolis - Yeah, I was just playing around. I guess I'm just amazed at how many people can do TS 9's and both FS 7's these days. Crazy awesome though to be able to link 9's like that.

He's been in Ky. this summer. My daughter and I went out with him a couple of weeks ago. He is simply amazing to watch. He is coming on super fast. There is no comparison with his riding from only a year ago. Way to go Bryan!!!

Whoa. That is damn impressive. What will be equally as impressive is if he remains "a good kid" and down to earth. We all know a few that let it go to their head a little.

I thought Harf had landed a W2W HS 9?

Ive seen video/photos of Harf doing HS 9's regular and switch off the D-up. I have never seen him do them wake to wake. Maybe he has recently?

Bryan was in Chattanooga over the weekend at the Between the Bridges Tournament, landed a HS 7 and Ts 9 in really rough water, very impressive.

Bryan Hutton is a great guy, I rode with him last winter. He was sticking 7's that day like it was nothing. Here are a few pics I dug up of that day...

I'm pretty sure pros like Rusty, Harf, and Soven have thrown off the wake 9's. Just recently I thought I saw Harf throw one on fuel tv at one of the wake games broadcast. I would love to see a whirly 9 in the future. Probably would have to be off the double up and landing blind. That would be insane to see.

I think he said heel 9's off the wake. Seen Tino do it in a wakeboard mag or alliance mag. Seems pretty tough.

Bryan is definately representin Kentucky well! we have a growing wake seen that is starting to really blow up, and hutton is definately at the forefront of it all. I talked to him at collegiate nationals down at the projects last october and he is a super cool dude. Im sure Greg and Patty at Boatworks (our local mastercraft dealer and one of huttons sponsors) will be stoked to hear the news.

Bryan is a shredder. He won collegiates last year I believe. He is a full time student at Florida Southern. He is one of those riders that just hasn't gotten the press yet but can ride with anyone. You will be hearing from him.

He just needs more time in the weight room

Aaron Rathy has also done Switch Heel 9's off the wake. It will be in his part in the upcoming Oakley wake film, Push Process.

Big Heavy, quite a few more than 3 have landed w2w heel 9s. I could probably name 3 people who have done them that you didn't even know about. Wakeboarding is getting crazy.

EDIT: Those Ten-80 shorts that Hutton is wearing are SIIIICK!

Kyle Alberts does a Whirly 9 on a trampoline, and he seems to have a knack for trip flip ole' spins (whirly's and Big Wurmss/Big Johnson's), so I wouldn't put a Whirly 9 past him.

Never heard of Bryan Hutton. Looks like he's launching himself on the top level wake scene in a big way. Stoked to see him on the CWB Marius tho!!
Old     (bbking)      Join Date: Dec 2006       08-17-2007, 1:16 PM Reply
more than tino and those other guys got heel 9s...someone explain please
Old     (entrustclothing)      Join Date: Jul 2005       08-17-2007, 1:23 PM Reply
so why are inverts in wakeboarding counted with the spins? like in snowboarding terms a whirly 720 would be a 1080 cause the invert would count as one 360. in snowboarding a 720 rodeo flip is a backflip FS 360. so to me a whirly 9 should be a 1260? or am i just being crazy?

YOU CRAZAY!

but i like how wakeboarding is...both sports are fine the way they are

Ya well maybe more people have landed WAKE to WAKE, not double up heel 9's then 3, I havent heard of more then that though and as far as this thread goes Bryan landed three 9's 3 ways one after another and NO RIDER BUT BRYAN HAS DONE THAT!!
Soo lets give credit were credit is due, great job Bryan!!!
Old     (shaggy)      Join Date: Oct 2004       08-17-2007, 10:41 PM Reply
That is impressive! Way to go Bryan. The CWB guys are stepping it up. I got to see another CWB rider, Nick Jones, do a switch toe 9, toe 9 and heel 9 off the wake in one set this summer, but Bryan is the only rider i have heard of doing all of them in a row. Like innov8 says "give credit where credit is due." Its awesome to see a new generation of riders stepping it up

a lot of people have probably done heel 9s off the wake but they are the only ones who can do it consistently

he's pretty sic to watch - we got some vid of his heel 9 a few weeks back from about a 45 degree angle behind him. too bad he's ugly tho-probably why nobody knows who he is...

can we see the video?

hutton has it. I think he was gonna try and get the full sequence on film - switch ts9, ts9, & hs9. haven't talked w/ him in a few weeks tho.
