Towing with a Rankin cover

Hey all, I'm heading east next week and can't decide. I have a full Rankin cover for my Supra and it's about a 4 hour drive. Tow with or without???? Last year I went 9 hours without...no problems aside from about a million dead bugs on the windshield and an inch of dust.

What do you guys do?

I had some major issues towing with my Rankin I had. Now have a covercrafts and don't have any issues. Just make sure you have it fitted correctly and as tight as it will go and you should be fine. I just came back from a 4.5 hour trip last weekend without issue.

I tow with mine on, ya never know what weather you may run into plus it keeps dirt out and helps protect from flying debris.

Anyone know who makes the original equipment covers for Malibu? I was under the impression it was either Rankin or Covercraft/Evolution Covers. Reason I ask is I know Jerry Nunn tows his boat all over the country with his Malibu and doesn't seem to have any problems.

In the past everyone always said tow without and I did, but now to me it's worth the few little surface scratches on the deck that I will never see to keep everything else off the road out of the boat. Might have a different opinion if I buy a boat with a black deck.

i have towed with one in the past and love the cover, but for long distances you will get some dull or wear spots on your gel coat just under the rub rail in the front of the boat. they can be buffed out so not a big deal..
i just play it by ear with the weather and what kind of road surface you are towing on...
