Ok so i'm super happy with the wake size, but feel the need to go that little bit bigger. What would be the best setup to have for extra ballast (e.g. concrete boxes, ballast bags etc..)? Has anyone weighted an X2 before, and what are the results like?? I've seen loadsa sizes of ballast bags online but was wondering if anyone has got a good setup going.

Cheers for ya help.

I don't think anybody has ever added weight to that hull before

Sorry to hijack a little, but this thread is sure to get a lot of responses, so the same people can answer my question about weighting for this hull as well.

How does this distribution sound:

800 in the trunks (400 each), roughly 500 under the seats in the bow, 300 in the ski locker, and 250 lbs. of lead as far forward in the bow as possible.

It looks good--with a nice square lip--to me, but I'm no 205V expert. Anything you guys would recommend (other than the obvious "add more weight), or is it a pretty well-balanced mid-level ballast set-up? We're riding at about 75' and 23.5 mph, but it looks like the sweet spot is around 77-78'.

Also, do a search. You'll find tons of the same thread with people that have bigger configurations.

Paul, do you count the ski locker as bow ballast in your 55/45 distribution?

Tim, are your tanks filled with fly high connections, or did MC start doing this later?

Jeff,
Kinda, but not really. I tend to look at bow weight compared directly to rear weight, then figure there's some factor the center bag adds to the bow.

Don't ask me if I think about the engine and level of gas in the tank...

From what I have seen you want to run a 60-40 split front to rear in the 205V hull. The platform should not be dumped unless the bow hook is under water.

Darren,
Agreed. That's why I don't fully utilize the rear bags. I need to get more forward weight and if I want it hidden, my only option is more lead.

Paul - you can put more girls up there instead of more lead

YOu can get the fly high V-drives and plumb them directly intyo you system. they are 550Lbs for each side of engine. Run the Center bag(300) and then I run about 500 in the nose. I like what the weight in the nose does. I started with only about 400 up there but as I added more the wake got much much firmer and had more kick.
Lover the reverse black and white. WAs my favorite color combo on the older X-Stars

I have the 04 x2. I use lead dumb bells. It allows me to move them around as need easily. I only use about 300 addition lbs. I usually have lots of people on board.

Hi-Jack (kind of) - Does anyone out there remember how the 205V hull was weighted, when it was towing the X-Game competitions?
End Hi-Jack.

99 I have the fly high lover sac in the ski locker the integrated bow sac and 750's on each side of the engine. usually around 6 people but have had up to 12. Huge wake. Horrible gas but we love it

Here is another Hi-jack. This question might be stupid, but what is the best way to get a beginner friendly wake out of this boat? Should I just go dry? The wife is afraid to cross the wake because it is too big.

that wake with no ballast is even decent. Sometimes ride with no ballast at the end of the day after the ballast tanks were emptied so the kiddos can go and we can wakeskate.

You really have to put a lot of weight in the front on these boats. You can place those 60# sand tubes under the seats in the bow if you want. Any other question PM me.
Here's the boat once it has this weight in:
