Get this, I was at a volleyball tournament last weekend and it was gettin pretty hot, so a bunch of people started jumping off this bridge into the lake. Its around 20ft off the water if u count the railing but nothing too high. I get up there and try to do a front flip, go off axis and land on my side. I climb out of the water after finally getting air to go in my lungs when start coughing up blood. I went to the ER and was x-rayed and stuff. Turns out I bruised my lung. Now, Wednsday, 3 days later I'm coughing up blood again. Whats up with the new bleeding?
If anyone has had this happen to them before please let me know if its normal to bleed almost a week after. I figure if anyone would know someone on here would. I've also been to a doctor twice and they cant find anything wrong with me. So again if anyone may know anything please let me know.

Thanks and sorry for the long post,
Scott

Go back to the Doctor or ER. Don't go home until there is an answer.

Justin's right, you do not want any clots around your lungs dislodging or something crazy like that, I'd insist on an MRI. those things will find just about anything!

Definitely get that checked out. A few years ago at a comp shaun murray was attempting a 313 and he landed really hard on his side...he was coughing up blood and I think he had some burst capillaries or something like that (it was definitely the capillaries) in his lungs...

One of my buddies landed funny on his side, bruised his lung and was hacking up blood. I would probably go in and check it out right away man thats bad news.

Yeah you definitly don't want clots around your lungs, I just heard my buddy who just past away from a wakeskating accident had a clot go to his lung, not his heart. So get checked out, I don't want to scare you, but it's well worth the precaution.

You also may have done trama to you wind pipe from the impact. A sudden burst of air into your throat causes it ot expand and bleed. You may have agragavted it. I did the same thing on a raley.

Well I talked to the doc about it, he called some pulmonary specialists. They said that I need to lie as still as possible for 24 hrs inorder to keep from reinjuring them. I also found out that it is a bruised lung, or a pulmonary contusion. I'm really bummed about this but hopefully it should start to look better by sunday.
Thanks for the tips,
Scott
