Well went out boarding for the first time this year last weekend and wouldn't you know it got hurt. I came down from a jump and my front knee just buckled, I thought I had tore it up good. Went to the doctor and luckily he doesn't think I tore any of the major ligaments, acl, mcl, etc. He thinks I tore some of the side stabilizing ligaments. Says I'll be out atleast a month, probably two.

Oh well atleast it's still early in the season. Even though I don't need surgery I'm still gonna try to get the doc to recommend a knee brace and get insurance to cover it. Better safe then sorry.

Sucks though I love spring snowboarding and I'm gonna miss it all this year, bummer.

Hey, David. Talked to yopu at Union POoint last weekend about it. Glad to hear none of the major ones are torn. Surgery sucks. Even though you are missing snowboarding, just think you will be back on the boat just in time for the warm weather! What brace are you looking at?

Take care buddy! Get well soon.

I'm not sure exactly. When I go back in for a check up I'm gonna talk to the doc and see if it's even possible. I've looked a little at the CTI's and also some of the other ones on the "kneebrace suggestion" post. If doctor won't help spring for a custom one then I'll probably just pick up an off the shelf one.

Thanks for the encouragment. I'll see you soon.

Im curious, u did this snowboarding or wakeboarding? I am so freaked out I will re-injure my knee, it's kind of a mental block. I'ts been 2 years since my last Surgury but I still baby it.

kinda both. I initially injured it snowboarding, then really tore it up wakeboarding. It was kind of a two part injury.
