my cousin and i are looking at getting a dock for our boats. besides being registered through the county are there any other fees needed? lake pass? insurance?

also, after no reply to my previous thread...does any one know where i can get foam to re-upholster with?

your questions need to be a little more specific to get quick, quality answers....

In regards to your dock, it all depends on what lake, what city / county. They are all different. Typically, some controlling organization on the lake will require a permit. You may also need to have plans approved before construction begins. But that's it. Well, you have to own the land that the dock connects to of course.

All I had to do was pay the permit fee. $25/year.

My builder already knew the code on our lake. We are required to have certain kinds of bracing for open water docks, and certain roof ( material and design) requirements.

sorry about the specifics. i'm thinking we might buy from some one. they already have it registered with the county, but you need liability insurance i guess. talked to ins company and they said they tack it on to the home owners insurance for the lake house.

here on the delta you have to own the water space that it sits in. it needs to be deeded and show on the county platt map. i'm not sure about were you live or the laws of that state
