My TS grabs are more successful than my HS grabs. How can I do grabs better? Any tips? I feel like my arm isn't strong enough for a grab but that can't be the case since my TS grabs are solid.

are you bringing the board up to you? when I miss my grabs it's usually cos I'm trying to reach down for the board rather than bringing it up to me...

Based on the HS w2w pics on your profile, I'd say your toeside edge is likely better than your HS. Right now, you have too much line tension on HS to take one hand off to grab. . It looks like you are taking a super fast HS approach and letting off right before the wake, going more horizontal w2w vs. vertical. I'd recommend shortening the rope to 60 to 65' and taking short/slow progressive edge HS approaches to the wake. Work on going w2w with the "dead sailor" air....legs straight (bend them upon landing to protect the knees)!

Think of how you get out of the water and back onto the boat platform. You push down on your hands and extend your legs to get the upward motion that lifts you out of the water. Do the same with the wake. Hold your edge, ride up the wake, push the handle down and extend your legs. Try it and see what you think.

Once you have the hang time, then work on the grabs and as Alice said...those legs you just extended to get big pop...bring them back up and get your grab on.

Kat I think your right! I think I lay off my HS edge some because I come in more agressive and with a little more speed. I already kinda of knew that is probably why my HS grabs are suffering. It's funny I take my HS FS BS 180s coming in wake nice and slow and get up more vertically and should have tried that for grabs.

Thanks ladies!

I want to try 180s grabs, but where is the easiest I can grab on TS and then do the 180? Same thing for HS, where is the easiest I can grab on HS and then do the 180?

I was told to do the grab first, then rotate into 180 on the way down. Please help!

Thanks

nose grab . then you can use that leverage to rotate the 180 as late as you want. get good pop suck your knees up. use your lead leg and lead hand for the grab.rotate your lead shoulder away and pull your back hand to what was your back hip. toeside is easier to spin becaue your just unwraping on the way down. hope this will help.
