As mentioned in a prior thread, the drivers are offset up to recess around the tower. So a 10" driver hangs down only about 8".

those look awesome...are there horn drivers in the middle or just regular tweeters?

each enclosure has a 10" midbass and a 10" pro audio coax with a titanium dome compression driver mounted behind the woofer and fires thru the center. Same formate as the NVS Tyrant but different drivers and crossovers.

Grills are preference. You can change them in 10 minutes to whatever you want.

if they can be changed what are the avail options, or do you have to make or find your own if you don't like those?

I have been looking and there do not seem to be any good options for optional grills. Everything Online is very tasteless. most stuff available seems to be stupid garbage like flames or something you would get at checker auto. I may have some fabricated at a local machine shop. for now i am sitting tight because i don't think they are great grills, but i don't think they are that bad on the deviants either. Seems that a lot of people don't like the NVS grills (i don't like Wetsounds grills myself). Most people are spending around 3 grand to set up a pair of tower speakers, seems like there would be a market for a few different options. I would have been willing to pay another 100-200 dollars (maybe even more) for a set of grills that i could get excited about. These guys are selling to the generation of the super-size me please, are they not?

If anybody knows of a great place to get some grills fabricated, please do tell.

OK I hear you.
Grills are quite personal like Jarrod mentioned. I don't take it personal but I have asked a few people that had less then good words to say about the current NVS grill as to what type they would choose.....and I got nothing back. So, speak up, if you don't like them don't leave it at that, tell me what you do like. We can likely make it happen.
NVS still offers a grill color service. You tell us what color, we make it happen.

I didn't like the grills when i first saw pictures of them but in person I love them. They look original and mean. Not that having freakin four 10"s on the tower didn't already look mean enough! Oh by the way, got stopped today for noise violation. Them babies scream.

I don't think these are bad but they would probably look better if the dimples on each leg where actually cut out and then the whole thing was chrome...

Brandon- I totally agree with you about this community and I truly wish more companies operated with the passion that Duane and NVS does.

I really like these grilles, im not a fan of the grilles on those Deviants but i know some people really like them. I think i like these because there simple and functional.

Trust me... The Deviants look sick in person and sound great, too. Duane did great work on these speakers. I loved the 10-10's, but these are a huge improvement if for no other reason than the extra 4" of head clearance you get.

Here's a shot of my old X2.

I was fond of these grills on the original 1010s. I painted them white

I think this is great. If nothing else it is evidence that no 1 design will satisfy all.
On the Fishman grills posted by Richard, we actually did some of those a few years ago. I thought they were pretty hot but the spokes stuck out too far and were great rope catchers...once or twice. Suddenly major parts of the grill disappeared.
Even "Clean" means different things to different people. I thought (and many agreed) that the white momo grills like on Jarrods X2 were clean.
Is there a solution here....anywhere? For me I think the solution is simply offering options.
Having said that, I'll put on any grill you want in any color.
Justin, nice meeting you too...see you and Shawn at Spring Ride. I thought the boat came out pretty good too.
