Sanger wakeplate

I havent seen one yet on a sanger but the local dealor has one so I want to check it out, I dont know much about wakeplates so any experiences you guys have would help!...

Our SSV has one. Helps a lot to get on plane when the boat is heavily weighted. Also helps getting through the chop on the way to your riding spot.

If it's like other wake plates then it simply pushes the rear of the boat up when deployed for a flatter wake, and allows the hull to sink lower into the water when in the up position creating a naturally bigger wake due to the weight of the hull in the water.

However, the Wedge actually is a foil that pulls the hull deeper into the water as the boat moves in the forward direction causing more displacement and a larger wake. Malibu has a patent on it and I'm sure they would not license it to one of their primary competitors.

My pal has one on his SSV. Its usefull for a couple of things.

1) Fine tuning the wake - he can tweak his wake at different speed to pull that little curl out that appears. So you can get a clean wake anywhere from 15-26mph or so.
2) He also uses it to keep the nose of the boat down when running so he can see.. or to remove porposing(sp?) when it occurs.

Its not critical, but it is a nice to have. In priority for my new Sanger (which will have a wake plate) I put it the order of PP, Tower Speakers, Swivel racks, Wake Plate.

Sanger wake plates are not remotely adjustable, correct??

Yes the do have a hydraulic contro for the plate, it is a option that my friend had installed on his V230.
