Did my ACL July 2nd, now have to decide how I want to get fixed and schedule my surgery. My options are patella tendon autograft, or allograft from a cadaver. Anyone who's done an ACL, I'm just wondering which route you and your doc went and why? What were the pros/cons your doc told you about each method?

The doc I'm seeing is suggesting patella tendon, citing it as the strongest anchoring for the new ACL (due to the bone on bone healing from the graft they harvest). Also saying it will be the tightest/strongest once healed.

They don't see a lot of wakeboarders here in central Illinios (I'm trying to educate him on the sport and the physical demands, impact from landings, etc). Is there anything specific about either way that makes it a better or worse choice for wakeboarders vs. other athletes?

And those from the other ACL thread, please don't suggest I get a brace and ride on it or re-tell stories how you've done so. Looking for info as my 2nd consultation is in a week.

Thanks
