My buddy just purchased a Malibu 247 with the power wedge. I went by to help make sure that everything is in good order. We hooked it up to a fake a lake and it runs great. He could not test drive it because it came from Wisconsin, and he bought it sight unseen.

It only has 14 hours on it.

Anyway, I put the wedge down and now it won't go up. When we push the up button, nothing happens, no clicks, no buzz, no movement whatsoever from the wedge. So now it is in the stuck down position. The switch has 3 wires on it and they seem snug. Should there be more? There are 6 connectors on the back of the switch. It seems like the pistons are not getting any signal when you push the up button. There is still a buzzing when you push the down button.

Any ideas short of taking it to the dealer?

You have to pull the speedo out and spin it for the wedge to go up. The other thing you can do is use a hair dryer to blow past the paddle wheel and then the wedge will go up. It is a safety feature to stop it from catching an arm or leg on the way up.

what trent said... or you could just wait until you get it back in the water and in gear..

Correct. I believe the boat has to be moving at least one mile per hour for the Wedge to go up. I just had my kid get under there and spin the speedo pickup while I did it. However, I usually leave it down on the trailer since it gains me another inch or two when backing it into the garage.

LOL!!!!!!!!

I guess that is what he gets for asking a Tige guy to check out the new bu. BTW, it is a very nice boat, I am looking forward to riding on it.

Thanks for the helpful information.

Carefull not to blow your knees out, that wake is rediculous stock let alone with added weight.

The ballast seems like a lot. It has 2 rear tanks, a big center tank and a big tank in the bow. They seem pretty sizable, and I am sure that will create a monster wake.

I am very stoked to see the surf wave.

Looks like I picked the right guy to invite to Powell for a week on a houseboat. I will be sure to post more reviews once we get back.

Hey make sure you get some extra sacks for the surf side, you'll be hangin ten like you're in hawaii. That surf wave gets huge with weight.

You guys make it to much work. Just sit in the boat hold the button and have your buddy use his finger to spin the paddle wheel. No hair dryer or taking the speedo out.

Needs to be in gear. Has nothing to do with speed. Works in reverse or forward.

Not true with being in gear. You can have the boat in neutral with someone spinning the paddle wheel and raise the wedge. Just enough to register a little speed.

Yeah, I know it doesn't have to be in gear because I've done it in my driveway several time without the boat even started.

The boat or paddle wheel has to be moving between 2 and 8 miles per hour for the wedge to come up.

Got to take her out this morning. Nu bu was not kidding about blowing a knee out on the wake. We first filled the ballast and left the wedge up. It was pretty decent. Then we put the power wedge on max wake and all I can say is Holy Shiz! The wake was steep and huge. Obviously in another league as far as my mediocre capability, but it was fun.

Everything worked flawlessly, almost.

The Wedge guage was a little odd. You could put it down a little and then the guage would stick, making you think it did not go down (or up), then you tap the switch again and the guage suddenly would jump to where the wedge was really at. I think I can get used to it, but I expected it to be more steady. Is that expected?

wedge guage has been that way for awhile now.. i think it is just the way it works and because of all the different settings you can run. you will get use to it in time.. congrats!
