Check your manual. For my TRUCK it says 89 is recommended for optimum performance. But says 87 is ok. I run the 89, whats 10 extra cents a gallon?

The 330 black scorpion was designed and tuned to run on 87. I have that motor in my V215 and love it. You can run 89 if you want to but Merc. manual says 87. The olny time I use 89 is the couple of times we filled up on the lake. With gas prices so high we just put the boat on the trailer and take it down the road. So worth the hour it takes to put it on the trailer, drive down the road, fill and put back in. Saves us like 1.50 a gallon and with a 45 gallon tank it adds up fast.
