9 of my friends and I just got back from our first houseboating trip last week. These pics make me want to ride, so I thought I'd share.

Walt, that Lake Sonoma pic makes me ill.

I went there for the first time on Sunday, without a clue of the lake layout/restrictions (my sister and family just moved to Santan Rosa so we went to visit them and hit the lake together).

First bad sign, many wallys at the launch loading there truck while their jet skies and boats blocked the ramp.

Second bad sign, like an idiot I went North (main channel was windy/choppy) past the "no ski" buoys for a long way and found good water. Some folks were tubing so we dropped my son and started towing...until the sherrif pulled us over and told us that the whole end of the lake was "no ski." Bummer.

We headed South of the marina where there was less wind but holy crap, it was a power turning/drive 20' away from our boat/lake lice (PWC) fest so we ended up wakesurfing for a bit and leaving.

I can imagine it's great in the Winter but on a Summer weekend it was a nightmare.

End threadjack and obligatory butter pic:

Hay Teri, Every year in Annecy there is something called 'Festival De Lac' Which is where they fire off over 1.6 million Euros in Fireworks and this picture was taken about 5 days before the fesitval!! Its so cool there are tens of thousands of people watching and about 1000 boats all raft up in the lake to watch the display which lasts about 2 hours!! The ride back (or should i say the race back!!) is also cool in the pitch dark as the lake is around 12 miles long and its pretty much guess work where your house is!!! This is where my parents place is!!

TN is where it's at. I've never taken the time to take pictures of butter, but it's great around here. You can get it whenever you want it.

Here's a couple, the house one was taken of, well, the house, but note the butter. That is not 3 miles downstream from downtown Knoxville
