Depends on what your knee problem is. If you have problems with your knee caps and that ligament, you don't need to spend the money for one of those crazy CTI braces. I went to a sports med specialist, cause my knees have been killing me all summer. He told me a couple things but he told me I need to keep my knee caps from moving side to side cause thats what is hurting me. He gave me some awesome knee braces that help a lot. If you knees are hurting and you got insurance I'd say take a trip to a sports med specialist and see what they have to say.

CTI.....their water friendly and well worth the money for a custom fit! That is...if you need one. If you dont have knee problems diagnosed by a doc...just get your legs stronger and dont become dependent on a brace for support. No need to have you knee become dependent on a brace unless you actually need one.

I need one, I was just hoping to pick up something moderately priced for now and at the end of the season do the whole Dr., MRI, surgery, rehab process. With the prices of the brace I'll just go to the Dr. and tell him I need the brace through my insurance until the end of the season and then do the rest.

if its saving you thousands of dollars on surgery and months of rehab why would you ever want a moderately priced one? The only thing i will ever put on my knees are CTI's

If you do not have an acute injury what you need is a GOOD therapist and some education on taking care of you knees. At the risk of sounding like a geek, get Mike Robertson's "Bullet Proof Knees" manual(Google this). I had knee surgery in February and learned a lot about taking care of them. Most people's knees hurt because of mobility issues at the ankle or hip, and strength imbalances. Go under the knife as a last resort.

Go to your doc and have him fit you for a CTi2. I got mine before my surgery. Then after my surgery and some PT. I had a refit done on it. Only took 3 days to send it in and have the refit done. Go with what your doc says and get a second opinion about surgery. No mater what...torn ligaments = surgery. After surgery work on keeping your legs strong. I now only wear my brace to board and when I squat in the gym.
