What prop are you guys using on your boats. I have a 3 blade but wondering if anyone switched to a 4.

I'm still 3 and have not tried the 4. I don't get any noticeable slip.

I switched from a 4 blade to a three, hole shot improved and so did top end, and it seems smoother. I know that doesn't seem to make sense, but it's true.

I'm running a four blade. It plains out and holds speed great. It came with the boat so I can't say what it is though.

Chris, did you drop pitch or stay the same?

I had a three blade OJ prop that came stock with my boat. When I started running more weight it had a hard time getting up on plane. I called ACME and described my boat and weight set-up and they recommended one of their four blade props (sorry I don't remember the model number). I switched out the two props and my boat now planes out better than ever and can handle even more weight than before. I only lost about 3 MPH off my top end as well.

I went from the stock OJ 4 blade on my V230 to a 3 blade Acme 911. Much better hole shot when weighted. Lost top end though, but who cares.

Thor, thats funny because thats what I did with Acme too and they recommended the 653 to me. I wanted to stay with a 3 blade because I've heard they are better for a clean surf wake. whether or not thats true I dont know but the prop is great and I still have a super clean surf wake.

I bet either will do just fine if you have the right pitch.
