I know that this subject has been brought up time to time, but figured some of the guru's might throw some advice my way.

I currently have some Mini Dv video cams, and standard editing software(sony vegas plat)

Im looking at upgrading and wondering if I should go with a HD cam, or some other 3ccd cam. Im not going to go to high end just yet, but want to make a good upgrade.

I have looked at the Canon HV10 and 20, as well as the Sony Hdr-HC5 and 7, and the UX5/7.

These seem to be in the price range im looking at for now, unlike the sony FX1 or other nicer camera's like that.

I will be shooting some wakeboarding, but more slower on land type video's.

Any suggestions and/or comments would be great!!1

I got one of those HV10's, very impressive image quality and the best image stablization I have seen. The instant AF works great as well. (Focus with HD is way more critical then with SD.)

You still have to deal with the HDV codec when editing and lots of motion get's a little weird but once you work with the footage there are work arounds for those limitations.

It's probably worth waiting for the HV20 but take a hard look at the Canons, they have a very natural look and better color then the sonys.
