Any thoughts on your favorite vest? I'm looking at buying a new one. Is Body Gloves Flight Jacket or Aviator decent? How's the comfort, are they flexible?

I love my Jet Pilot A-10. It's a molded vest so it doesn't have the best float, but it gets the job done. I like it way better than my O'neill Vapor or the Boost. Tried on the Nevin S.W.A.T. and didn't like it, and I didn't hear very good things about it.

Thane, what did you not like about the Nevin SWAT? I was looking at getting the CGA vest. I currently have the O'Neill Vapor and it blows.

I tried on both the CGA SWAT and the non-CGA. The CGA was enormously bulky, and the non-CGA didn't have the strap around the waist. I wanted a strap around the waist, because I had the Vapor, and I liked the feel but it kept riding up, even after I went a size smaller. My buddy has the CGA SWAT and when it gets wet it weighs like 20 lbs. He went back to using his 5 year old H.O. vest.

I dont have one but went to my local board store and tried on an Oneill Mental and without a question was the most comfortable CGA approved vest I have ever tried on. Well get one during the off season.

I like the hyperlite with the zip off sleeves. ( I cannot remember the name). Up here in my neck of the woods, it can get a little chilly on summer nights. the sleeves keep me warm.

I have a rip curl stealth. Nice vest, comfortable, and fits well. Only problem it gets heavy with water. Floats better then my last non cga.

I found the A-10 too rigid. Plus I feel it may look outdated quite soon.

Jon - I thought it felt too rigid also when I put it on in the store, but I thought it looked too damn cool so I bought it anyway, and it's almost like it's form-fitted to my body now. It's really really nice.

I just purchased the Nevin Swat for 2005 and they have improved it, the fit is nicer and the grafix are much beter. the zipper problem has been fixed and moveability is improved from preivous years. The jet piolt vest is great but dont forget that the lack of the coast guard approval could mean no more boarding ever.
