So how was wakeboard camp?
Old    jakeman            08-09-2004, 2:05 PM Reply
it was awesome!
one of the best times of my life.
Travis Moye is the coolest person and tells the greatest stories. He is the worlds best wake board boat driver; also an excellent instructor. He broke me of all my bad habits. Travis could open his own school if he had to. Travis and Shaun are best friends and they really love what they do. Shaun had surgery on his knee so Travis had Keith Lyman come out on Thursday and Friday; he busted out 2 sick demos and coached everyone on their tricks. Mad props to Lyman! he went well out of his way for us and we appreciated it. Drew McGuckin came out Wednesday and did a sick wake skate demo. Our room mates were really cool and we had a great time with them on/off the water. I recommend that every wake boarder spend a week at www.TheBoardingSchool.com
You will see first hand why this is the #1 ranked wake board camp.

That's pretty sweet...any new tricks out of it?

I had to break the habit of edging too aggressively then flatting off at the end. It was real hard to break. I am getting more height now and learned to throw 360's off the rollers. I am more constant on my double ups. My goal b4 I went was to throw an invert but the wake was too big and we were going 22.5 when I like to go 21 some days the wake was like a nautique. I worked on my TS w2w 180. I don’t think I will ever have the nads to throw an invert. It’s like skating vert ramps-you either got it or you don’t- and I don’t have it and probably never will so I will just have fun riding and stay behind the camera. Angi progressed a lot. She is sticking HS & TS w2w 180, TS BS butter slides in the flats, & a lot of lip slides. She also was riding at 65’.5’ more than b4 camp.
It will take me a while to get use to my new style so I can utilize it to start progressing.
I am so sick of wake boarding that I am taking a couple of weeks off and hopefully by the end of the season I will stick my 360 and get the huge air that you do. How is boarding in Seattle? Have you been it the lake looking outside of your office?

Sounds like the camp was an awesome time. Glad to see you guys got a lot out of it.

Well, I haven't moved yet. We are waiting on our house to close, but I am leaving Sept. 15. We are going back out in a couple of weeks to rent something. I don't really think I'll be doing too much wakeboarding out there. Still up in the air if the boat is going. My bro has it for now, and we'll come to that road eventually. Our plan is to snowboard as much as possible. Mt Hood is a short drive south and the snow is year round there. Then in the fall and winter we can ride at a place about 45 minutes away. Also going to blow the dust off the Haro and hit the big trails of British Columbia. I hope to finally see the North Shore and the elevated balance beams trails.

We did a little boarding this weekend at my bro's place, but my shoulders are over it.

Was that video filmed at the TOE? I used to be a memeber of Ridge Riders for a couple years and saw parts of that course in the making. I took a couple of teeter-totters out there too. Those are probably long destroyed by now. Too bad it's ridiculously hot or I'd have to give it a shot...oh, and I'd have to be a member for the lock combo so that's not going to work.

Awesome video though. It's amazing to see that kind of riding in Florida, and that many people with downhill/freeride bikes in Florida.

So are you both laying low on wakeboarding now?

we were gonna ride this weekend but I think we will probably go surfing/skim boarding now due to double hurricanes=LOL
I think it was filmed in lakeland
produced by AS*I*B = my other half of 6PackProductions.com video production company
it that the place you were telling be about going to? you talked about 2 places was that one of them?
It would be sweet to ride behind your boat one more time B4 you move; of all the boats I have been on, I still think yours it the best.
I would love to buy it from you.

laying low? NEVER!

Maybe Jake is a little 'burnt out' but I would go every day if I could!! I was amped before camp..then camp just lit a second fire under me! I'm hoping this stoopid hurricane does not prevent us from riding Sunday!

Poor Jake, Oh well, at least he does not have a wife who is addicted to shopping!

Jake,

Great job once again. Who was the kid that threw the Nuke-Tantrum to blind. SICK!

Jake, the boat is over in Windemere at my brothers house. He lives near Lake Butler and has access to it. I was going to sell the boat, but it was going to cost so much money to do it I decided not too. My brother actually talked me out of it because he wants to use it and agreed to make the monthly payments. We've been going over there and riding, but I am getting sick of that traffic. I might go back out this Saturday. If I sell it to anyone, it will be him, and I have a feeling he is going to.

Man I am glad that hurricane didn't hit. It would be hard to close on a house that is ripped in half or missing a roof. I did the Home Depot shuffle Friday morning around 1am and bought 10 sheets of wood. I got them cut and hung around 7am, took a nap, and woke up to find the thing turned. So I took them right back down. FUN!

J-Rod
thanks
that is daniel powers = keep your eye on him
he rides advanced and kills it

Craig
LOL we did the same thing
hung the wood up at 1pm on friday; then took it down at 7pm
it was a good hurricane drill like when we use to hide under our desks in elementary school
it was better to be prepaired and have nothing happen.
