Wow, they flex a hell of a lot. Never seen a video that showcases the flex quite like that.

do all new boards have flex like that?? i ride an 04 Obrien and it is soooo stiff

all the slingshots do... my 07 is the same way

Current flexboards:
Hyperlite Roam
Ronix Covenant
Obrein R5 (?) -- these are "wet noodle flex"

LF Press
All Slingshot boards --- Controled flex

there maybe more that I don't know for sure...

are the '07 & '08 board identical except for graphics?

Reason I ask is a friend wants one(loves my 142 response) but doesn't want two identical looking boards on boat

I don't know much about the obrien flex line, but i pride myself in learning about all the flex boards out there, especially slingshot, but i think the Obrien R5 and Local style of flex is somewhere between "wet noodle" and "controlled, rebounding" style. The cores of the obrien line are EVA and some other stuff i think
the Roam and covenant are wood
the slingshot boards are a hybrid of wood and high-quality-divinicel foam.
time and rider opinions will tell how obrien's line really reacts, but i still vote for slingshot (as the leader in flex). i just like the sound of the hybrid core and the pride and quality workmanship of USA made stuff ;)

That place is more than fun. the GRC has to be my favorate wakespot in the world. Its like disney world.

Great video, I have also watched the Josh Oconnell video several times. Impressive riding. Heather Johnson looks like a great fit for Slingshot, she already had amazing style on the rails and the Slingshot's flex looks like it gives her even more room for expression. She is amazing on rails.

That 180 nose press to 180 off was awesome in the O'Connel video at 3:30 in from the start. Stylin as.

The graphics are different between the 07 and 08 models. Also the 08's contain inserts that allow access to any type of wake boot.
