I thought this Email was pretty cool.

Stair at the red dot on the womans nose for 30 seconds or so.
Then look at a flat white surface like a ceiling or a wall while blinking.

What you should see is, After you blink your eyes are re-focusing and you should see a color version of the photo.

Totally works. The dots don't have anything to do with the effect. They could have left them out and just said stare at the nose.
