Hello,

I have bought a Ski Nautique 196 of the year 2000. I want to use this boat for wakeboarding. How much ballast do I need to create a nice wake.

Does anyone has a picture of this boat with a Wakeboard tower

Thanks

Erwin

My buddy last year had a 196 that he bolted a tower onto for wakeboarding. He also was a slalom skier and basically no matter how much weight we threw into that thing the wake sucked for wakeboarding. The hull just rides to flat...

I would start our with around 400-600# on each side of the motor box, and around 400# in the ski locker or the storage area in the front of the boat. Maybe some in the very back if you don't have anybody riding in the boat with you. Expect to take some water over the bow if you idle through rollers with this setup. This is what I use in my '95 Sport Nautique.

Some type of Phat seat or couch in the back. Then throw another sack on top of it. A 3/4 to full sack in the bow depending on people in the boat, and it will be good to go. They throw a very nice wake that is plenty big enough.
