Anyone know where I can find one of these. I live in Northern California, but am willing to travel pretty far for the right boat. I have been trying to find one for a couple of weeks now and have been searching all over the internet with not much luck. It has to be a SUPER sport with a v-drive. I'm not interested in the regular sport nautique. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The Super Sport didn't come out till 1995, and the hull went until 1999. If you check out boattraderonline.com, there's always 5-6 of them on there - mostly with no tower, and barely any hours.

I believe the super sport hull is still being used by Nautique...aka Super Air.

Good choice. Keep looking and wait for the right one. I waited long enough and finally found the perfect '97 and I love it. It throws an awesome wake. Check my profile for a pic. I have now added flight clips to the tower which aren't on there in the pic.

Did you repaint it Justin? That boat looks sweet!

No I didn't repaint the boat. I just replaced the original decals with the AIR graphics and then I added the tower and just recently added flight clips also. I'm running about 1600 lbs or so right now and it throws a pretty nice wake. If you get above 1800 or so pounds, it will really put out a good wake.

It looks like that boat on boattraderonline.com is just a sport, not a super sport.

Thanks for the replies fellas, keep em' comin. I have gotta find my boat. Justin, that thing is sick exactly what I am looking for. Have you looked into having a ballast system installed? What do you currently use for extra weight?

At the present time I have a launch pad 440 lb. rectangular sac and 50 lbs. of lead on each side of the engine. Then we are running a full sac that gets to approximately 450 lbs and another small sac that gets to approximately 250 lbs. in the open bow.

I am going to be installing an automatic system probably this winter. I have a custom sac on order right now that will completely fill the front ski locker which should hold about 750 lbs. I will probably then add another 100 lbs of lead to the front bow. After it's done I will have about 950 lbs. in back and 850 lbs. in front. I may use another small sac to place on the floor if I don't have very many people with me.

Ideally you want about 900-1000 lbs. in back, 600-700 lbs. in the locker and 350 - 500 lbs. in the open bow for an unbelievable wake. Don't get me wrong, the way I have mine set up now with approximately 1600 lbs or so throws a very nice wake. I'm just saying if you want it like the pros, you need about 2000-2200 lbs in there with it fairly even from front to back. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I ride in an 1995 Super Sport and we have it weighted like this:

2 sacks in the back - probably 1000lbs total
1 in the floor - 700lbs
lead in the front - 200lbs.

The wake is big and pretty steep. It got really huge and a little less steep when we threw a sack up in the bow and filled it maybe half way -I mean it was huge though - I was scared to charge it!

Scott- if you are close to so. Cal. I was just informed that a 97 sport was being traded-in at California Correct Craft. I think they are in riverside or irvine California.

Keep looking, you'll find you're boat. I have my loaded the same way as Justin and the wake is perfect! Big enough for me.
We converted ours also to a SuperAir (installed FCT, ballast and decals). See my profile pic. I think this boat is the best bang for the buck.

Good luck with finding one!

I have a 96 super sport that I have added a tower and automatic ballast. I carry around 1400 lbs. The one thing you might want to add is a new prop. My original prop was a 3 blade 14x18. I went to a 4 blade 13.5x16 from ACME. It is the same prop CC is putting on the new SANs. Changing the prop makes getting out of the hole quick. Have not noticed any increase is gas consumption.
