If I wear a 8.5 running shoe would I be a 8 or 9 in the D2? Hyperlite 8's fit me well.

They run pretty close to size. I would recommend running a 9, since your a 8.5. Those intuition liners on the D2's are super nice and can be heat molded to your foot multiple times. So if you feel the boot getting loose on you heat'em up! but they shouldn't, they don't run big.. The Drivers did although...

The reason I asked is that I heard they run small. I like really tight bindings so I'm inclined to get the 8's but obviously don't want them to be too small. I'm more like a 7.5 in a dress shoe so who knows.

I would go small. I wear 11.5s and got 11s and hey are snug but I wouldn't want them any other way, they fit perfect.

I would say go a size smaller as well. They mention putting a piece of ball'd up paper in the toe, when heat molding, if it's too tight. They supply the ball'd up paper.

Get 8s and if they don't fit, i'll trade you for my 9s. I was in a similar situation and i went a size up.... regretting it now.

Too late. It has alredy shipped. If the 8's are too small then I'll just trade them in for 9's.

No, I wouldn't think I could exchange them if I did. My toe is definitely against the end of the liner which I don't think is a huge deal, but I'm also pushing up against the end of the actual boot. I think that it would be really uncomfortable to ride like that. The 2009 Recoil I got does look sick though! I can't wait to ride it and see what this flex stuff is about.

My foot touches the end of the liners and the boot and could have a tad more room, but surely would not want to go up a full size and lose the snugness. As long as your foot is only touching the end and not pushing on the end you should be gravy

9s and if you have extra room, wear socks and or throw a gel orthotic in if you think it is a tad large to squeeze it up

So some folks are telling me to heat mold them with something at the end of my toes to stretch them out a bit. It does seem like it's the liner that is too short and not the boot itself. Any thoughts on doing this and if I could really gain a 1/4 inch or so out of them by doing so? What would you use?

Eubanks, I stuffed newspaper in the toe and molded mine. My toes were hitting pretty bad. Worked well, they were still tight for a few rides but broke in perfect. This was on th PB Floyds but should work the same for the D2's.......

Good to know Tracktor. I might go that route. I really hate to hassle with sending these back and then potentially getting some that are too big. As is though they are a no go with the way they rub the end of my toes. I know Ronix provides you with something specifically for this purpose. Not sure that Slingshot does the same.

If it's just the liner that's too small, you should be good, my liner always feels small, but it will break in and isn't rigid enough to make a difference

Well, turned out to be too small after all. Big props to Slingshot for going ahead and getting me a new pair sent out already. So last question...Does the adjustment part of the SS baseplate face to the inside of the boots or the outside?
