new to me this year. bought my first house on a lake and drove to TN to pick this boat up to park out front. rode last night with 350lbs lead in the back, wife driving, and 100lbs lead in the ski locker to balance out the wife. i don't really see a need (for me) to add more than that...but I probably will. anyway, it runs like a champ and I felt like bragging today.Upload

steep hill is right. i'm thinking about rigging up a gas pipeline down to the dock. something i could fill at the top of the stairs, walk down, turn a valve and fill the boat. the '88 had new carpet and vinyl in '92...i spent alot of time waxing, scrubbing the vinyl, vaccuming, and refinishing every piece of teak on the boat.

do you like it better than the wake on the 93???
Old     (nickbot)      Join Date: Feb 2007       05-14-2008, 1:04 PM Reply
i do. the 93 wake is good, the 88 wake is great...boots you straight up. the 93 definitely rides nicer...you can hardly notice an extra 1000 pounds...you can REALLY notice it in the 88. the 93 gets out of the water alot quicker, but I think has alot to do with the prop on the 88. i love both boats ,but they have different strengths and weaknesses. the 93 is like ginger and the 88 is like mary ann...i don't really know what that means...

Nickbot, the 93 probably has 285 or 310hp and the 1.23:1 tranny while the 88 has 255hp and the 1:1 tranny. That's why you feel a diference.
Everyone states the 542 prop from ACME is the must have prop for boarding with the older nautis.

I wonder how much better do the 89's 2001 perform???

Great setup. I like the colors on the 2001 and it looks really clean. Enjoy the season.
