I demoed an 06 absolute this weekend and it was full of pop. But, I noticed that in a lot of the pics, the nose of the board was higher than the tail. Was I putting too much weight on the front or back foot when hitting the wake. I usually dont have this problem on my old board, so I'm thinking the 06 Absolute may have magnified a bad habit.

That could be as well, being on a new board...I may have to keep it for another week or so to work the kinks out, lol.... I'll see if I have any pics leaving the wake.

More weight on your front foot will cure the problem and launch you much BIGGER!

Stay on edge. You are most likely flattening out right before the wake.

Hey Jamie, nice shots. If I could go that big and ride away from it I wouldn't care about board position. Were you doing a 180 on that last shot? My son gets the tip up most of the time as well. He's been working on various grabs and that's been helping with board position in the air.

Nice pics Jamie. I think it will work itself out when I get more time on the board, also I could widen the stance to get more leverage on the front foot.

Jamie, nice shots. i also have a bad habit of taking my back hand off. I've been working on pulling the handle in with both hands and trying to keep them there. REALLY transfers the tension to the water when you pull it in.

Byrd, will you be getting the absolute? I've got to ride one of these...

I'm pretty sure I'm upgrading to the 06 Absolute. I rode the 06 this weekend a lot and I really like the pop. I'm upgrading from an 02 Absolute Platinum, and the 06 seems slower, but is less work for the airtime. I would recomend trying it out, our group also tried the 07 Transcend, I didnt because I wanted to spend as much time as I could on the Absolute. The guy that tried out the 07 Transcend said he really liked it. Below is the thread where my buddy Duffy comments on it. Either way, try them out and see what you think.

Thanks guys for all the comments! I can't wait to ride again! We had about 500 pounds of extra weight in the boat that day so the wake was pretty sweet.
Les Debbold - No that wasnt my 180, this is. I'm finally landing those about 90% of the time I think.

Thanks again guys! I'v got a pretty good photographer too!

Jamie
