I bought an Olympus Evolt 500 last fall. I mainly went with Olympus because I used to work for their surgical division and I can get really good deals.I love the camera and it is great for the wakeboard action shots. Nobody on these forums talk much about the Olympus SLR's. Are there huge differences, or is canon just a more mainstream camera?

I looked into the Olympus evolt as well, before I bought my Nikon. IMO, I think that since you have to use Olympus Lens which are pretty expensive compared to other manufacturers to use many features of the camera, there are less users of Olympus. When I compared price vs features, the Nikon won.

Thanks Byrd,
I did not know that about the lens'. I did get two lens' along with the camera. For the camera and both lens' I think I only had to pay $400, so it was a no brainer for me.

That was a great deal. You should be happy with that setup.
