I wanted to find out how people are using their volume controls on their phone/ipods with 3.5mm connections. Do most people using thier Iphones crank the volume to full on the phone then adjust the HU to proper sound volume? I'm just curious if you can get a clipped signal if your Iphone is turned up all the way instead of at maybe 3/4?

I use my ipod turned up all the way and no issues. I use a pigtailed adapter that plugs into a usb charger via 12v socket and the ipod proprietary port out the bottom to aux in on HU.

I crank my volume up all the way -doesn't clip at all and sounds just fine.
Some songs with a ton of bass in them I have to turn down the iPod volume just a bit for it to sound clean, fyi.

Crank Volume on iPhone/iPod and use the deck for volume or use the ipod to adjust volume once set on deck. Never had an issue.

Usually when I plug my iPhone and ipod using the 3.5mm plug, it aromatically adjusts the volume to about 3/4. I leave in on that because turning it all the way up makes bad songs sound like ish.

bluetooth + adaptunes. Iphone volume self adjusts from very low to full based on boat's speed.
