Wakeboarding boats - question on beaching

I'm looking into purchasing a Mobius XLV with v-drive. Can I safely beach this boat? It seems unwise with the position of the prop, but thought I'd ask anyway. thanks

as long as the prop doesn't goet loged into the sand, or as long as you dont get sand in some intake grate on the bottom, go ahead, just don't run your boat in less than 3.5 ft of water.

lol its funny you posted this as I drove our new moomba outback onto a sand bar last week...2.5 feet is no good....buried prop lol

If the water is deep enough you can beach the boat, draft is 2.5 to 3 feet which is a little more than most I/O's can go when trimmed up. My question is why do you want to beach a $40,000 (or close) boat and mess up the bottom gel coat. There have been lots of threads about this in the past, overwhelming majority of wakeboat owners never beach their boat.

you can purchase protective armor for your boat that molds on to protect your boat when you beach it. We have one and it works great!

If you were going fast enough and you hit something hard enough it would do some serious damage to your underwater gear and such

i don't think messing up the tracking fins is much of an issue as being stuck as they will dig in and get stuck along with the prop if the wind is blowing you in further

I'm not real big on beaching my boat. I prefer anchor with the rope tied to the aft end and run a rope to shore tied to the bow (with enough slack to allow for rollers). Just not worth the worry of hitting a rock or stump and damaging something.

I made the mistake of beaching my boat in pure sand about 2 weeks ago. A big storm came and was jarring the boat up and down in the rear. Well, long story short one of the blades of the prop was facing downward and got completely cupped over. Bye bye $400 acme prop. It will never be the same. So be careful when beaching.

dont worry about the fins all too much. At least on my vlx I have hit them a few times and nothing has happend, amazingly strong. Id worry more about the bottem of the boat and your boat moving around resulting in prop/shaft damage. Again the rudder is super strong, i backed the boat into a parked car and it effed the front bumper of the car up, but the rudder was solid as rock.
