Trying to put together a trip to the River, have heard that the water is really low. Anyone know what it's like between Needles & Topok? Went last year toward the end of October, was a big mudhole, could walk across the river at Jack Smith. Thought it was just because they were working on all the ramps last year, but the people at Needled RV/Marina told me that their gas dock is already in the mud. Just looking to avoid disappointment. Thanks - Jeff

I just got off the phone with Needles Marina. The gal said that it is low, but that they are launching boats. I am planning on going there tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. So, I'll let you know..

Really appreciate it, John. Thinking that if it was low Labor Day weekend, Oct. may be out of the question.

Just got back from Needles. The water level is low, but not as low as reported. The gas dock is not in the mudd. We launched and had a nice day. The water between the bridge and Park Moabe is fine.. however, the inlet to Havasu is way shallow and boats were getting stuck on their way back from the san bar in the late afternoon. It was crazy to watch.. so if heading down there, go slow and be on the lookout.

Just got back from Moabi today...

Water did drop a little more than normal during the last afternoon. But it came back up and was high in the morning. You should never have problems launching at Moabi, unless its really low which is rare.

You will see more water level changes in the upcoming months.

BTW... water and air temps are great... but the wind had us surfing most of the time.

PC, just read the bureau of reclamation is lowering Havasu 3 1/2' in the next 10 days. the boating community in havasu is already complaining the launches are too shallow for the big boys. Theyre guessing the river above topoc bridge will end up 4-5' deep. Guess Im going to have to rethink my October trip also.

Makes the decision to head to Naci real easy. Thanks again, Paul!

Jeff, You've been here before and you know that the water goes up and down everyday. We've been riding everyday and as usual the water comes up late in the afternoon. Water level to me is very aceptable. And as you know, now that summer is over the next two months are going to be awesome.

Hey Anthony, Yeah it's an awesome place, but last year went there before Parker (Oct.22-23rd) and there was nowhere to even launch, just a big mudhole at Jack Smith & Needles RV/Marina. We saw people walking across @ Jack Smith. Just don't want that to happen again.
