What is the story with this boat how does it handle, quality, and what ever else you can give me. Why are there no tracking fins?

Sean, the X-15 is a great boat for almost being 22 feet it handles awesome. The quality is there just like all Mastercrafts. It is a well rounded boat, it does everything well, wakeboard, ski, surf and handles chop. There are no tracking fins because it doesn't need them. The only v-drives in the Mastercraft line with tracking fins are the X-star and X-1. The new hull design for Mastercraft eliminates the need for tracking fins. Go drive one you will be impressed.

BullSh*t on the 'new hull design does not need them' line. The damn tige drives better than their boats today! Get in a VLX or 220 and you will see how a boat should turn.

Wow!! In case you are still interested...I third what Darren said and add: The boat handles like a smaller boat, fun to drive.

What's the ballast like in the X-15? There seemed to be alot of room in the rear storage lockers.

Last fall I had the opportunity to go riding behind an X-15. First off I am definitely a Malibu guy but here goes. We had the stock ballast full, plus another 1500lbs or so and the wake was very nice, and quite big. I didnt drive it but it handled pretty well, but I feel like my vRide handled better. I know my boat is smaller and has tracking fins, whereas the X-15 doesnt and I'm sure that this had something to do with the handling of the boat. The quality is up there with the rest of MC's line. The X-15 is a great boat, and remember I'm a Malibu fan.

tyler, the stock ballast is about 1000lbs but you are right there is enough room in the rear lockers for some big side sacks. If you are going to add extra weight to this boat, distribute the weight front and back. Also you can get a "attitude plate" that can shape the wake nicely. wakebrd17, how did you like the wake shape vs. your vRide?

I thought the X15 was a stretched out version of the older X2/X1 (which IMO would be awesome) but it sounds like it is a completely different design, more similar to the X10 or X30. I expected to see more of these on the water last year, but only spotted a couple. It would be interesting to hear what the price tag is and why some of you who own the X15 chose it over one of the other previously mentioned MC models.

Darren, I liked the wakeshape of my vRide better, but this is most likely due to the fact that I ride it every weekend and am used to it. With the wedge down and the ballast full plus a bunch of people the wake is really nice. Chris you are right, the X-15 is the replacement boat to the X-10 and is a better boat.

The X 15 was a late season release. Most dealers didn't get them til after their first boat shows. I have friends that picked one up in the summer and they love it. Fits their family perfectly. Don't compare it to older X 10 or X30's. Wake shape is completely different and rough water ride is much better.

Chris, I think the reason most people choose the X-15 over the X-30 is because of the way it handles. The 15 is alot more fun to drive and the room in the 15 is almost the same as the 30.

This year I have traded up from my 05 X-2 to a 07 X-15. We loved our X-2 IMO the best wake for the money! However, being a family of 4 plus friends we hated the size of the X-2. I did not want to give up on performance so... after demoing the X-15, it was an easy decision to hop right in. The 215 handles awesome and the wake is a bit on the wider side but we all board on 80+ rope now. The demo ride did not have the wake plate but I ordered it anyway. I really look forward to our lake un-freezing and enjoying the summer. Oh.. By the way the hardest part of this decision was... the color scheme and agreeing as a family.

Darren.. went with the basic Black / White. We live on the lake and a white hull is tough to keep clean. I will post pics when it comes in. In production now!!

That X15 on ebay is cheap... wonder if its real? I am trying an X15 this year, coming from a long string of Malibu Wakesetter VLX's... we'll see how it goes.
