Prop Identification Help - 1999 X-Star

Anyone know how to identify the particulars about a prop. I think mine was replaced right before I bought it 10-some years ago so its probably not the standard size/pitch that came on 99 x-stars.

On the end of the hub next to the prop nut are the numbers 14 , 204 ( or maybe 20A) , cup, and 1 1/8

Alongside the length of the hub are are three tick marks ''' , 17, and 130 but the three is really off centered below the 10 and then 99.


So the 1 1/8 is the shaft size. I *think* that its a 14X17 OJ. 99 is probably the year of manufacture.


Reason I ask is because I'm thinking of going with an ACME 1235 but I'd like to see if I can sell my old one. I don't really need a spare since this one has lasted nearly a decade without a ding in it but I want to be able to identify it correctly on ebay or whatnot.

Also curious what folks would think a used 4 blade inboard prop would be worth in good condition.

if it's in good shape and hasn't been repaired, i'm guessing $150-200 maybe? really depends on it's characteristics as to it's value. someone might soak it up for a spare.

I have what sounds like the same prop on my '00 230VRS. I was confused by the markings too and emailed OJ last year. This is what Eric said:
The 14 X 20 "A" was the stock propeller and is actually a 14 X 18 stamped 14 X 20 "A". The propeller was made in September of 1999, 9 99. This propeller is a left hand rotation with a 1 1/8" bore.

Oh, and my prop had "999" on it which corresponds to the date of manufacture that Eric mentioned above. So, I would assume that yours is one month older than mine. Not sure what the 17 and 30 indicate though. I don't remember markings along the length of the hub on mine but I haven't looked closely at it since about last July.

Chaun - Sent you an email back, Jeff is correct, the 14 X 20 is a 14 X 18. As I mentioned in the email I would suggest trying our 14.25 X 14.5 LC 1 1/8" FUSION 4-blade.

Sorry, I guess I should have said yours is 1 month newer than mine.

I'll second the 14.25x14.5 Fusion, my buddy runs it on his X-1 and my other buddy runs the 14.25x14.5 XMP on his. I havent ridden/driven them side by side to really compare the two but both get the job done well.

First off keep current prop as spare. Second, go with 14.5x14.25. I have a 1464 which is 14.5x13.5 and is great with tons of weight, but on the deep end for regular weight.

I'd just as soon sell it rather than have it cluttering up my garage. Its not like I'd swap one out at the lake anyhow.

When u damage ur prop and want to use the Boat youll kick yourself.
