Hey guys, awesome pics! Looks great. Can't wait to get out myself.

Question for you guys - when do you feel safe leaving your boat on the water overnight (ie on a lift) without risking it freezing?

When you head out early in the year are you draining the water from the engine when you pull it out?

Love to hear your thoughts.

I havent drained mine but I woud if it got below freezing. It only takes 15 minutes to do, so if you can put your boat and lift in the water, you can drain the block.

Cliffs: Dont be lazy and drain your block just to be safe.

I've always heard that if you're worried about it freezing up, don't raise the boat all the way out of the water - so the raw water intake is in the lake and underwater, and that small amount of heat transfer from the lake water keeps the engine from freezing up (just what I've heard though).

MN1, it usually takes a night of solid below zero freezing to cause dammage. If you're concerned, just put a tiny space heater in the engine compartment overnight. That's what I used to do.
