Hey guys,
Just got back from the canyons at park city. A few of us are looking to take another end of the season trip. We live in Alabama so we don't get to ride near as much as we would like. We took the wives with us to the canyons and now we want to take a guys trip before we get the boats back out.
I am looking for suggestions on the cheapest places to stay that are close to good snow.
We will be flying southwest
1.Need a place to stay (3-5 people)
2. What Mountain
I figure all the best deals will be during March.
Looking to go as cheap as possible, spent all the money on the women
Any suggestions would be appreciated

March is probably cheap except for the weeks of Spring Break.... In all my experience Feb is much cheaper than March

I haven't been there yet but the new TransWorld Mag has the Breckenridge layout in it and it looks SICK.

Hasn't been a good year for snow in the front range region of CO. Hopefully we have a big late season, or else I would look into going somewhere with more snow.

I've only been to Breck once, it was pretty good, but it gets pretty crowded and touristy. I prefer Winter Park or Copper Mountain over it.

Edit: If you do choose to come to that area. You can find cheaper lodging about 10-15 minutes away from the resorts in the towns of Dillon, Silverthorne, or Frisco.

If you are looking only to ride, I would say Salt lake city is the cheapest option. You can rent cars much cheaper than most other places (imo you don't need 4wd). You can find a really cheap hotel in slc and be within 30 minutes of snowbird, brighton, and solitude, and about 1:15 from powder mountain and snowbasin.

I'm doing a similar trip and looked around at many options and this is the cheapest I could find

We have been to Solitude, Brighton, Winter Park, and the Canyons. Would you guys suggest another cool place to ride or stick with one of those. So far my favorites are the canyons and getting the Solbright pass to ride both Solitude and Brighton.

I do like how close the airport is to the slopes in utah, but there may be something cooler that we don't know about is states other than Colorado or Utah.

Also who has the best deals on lift tickets. We did the pair passes at the canyons. That wasn't too bad. Got a better deal at winter park last year at buy on get one free with coupons.

go to south lake tahoe.

we are having a good snow year here. there are sp many hotels you can find a cheaper one that isnt all glitzy. like 6 resorts within a 45 min drive or heavenly 2 secs away. lots of apres and legalized gambling. cant find much if any better mountains out then here

We were at Snowbird in January, long runs and a lot of "backcountry style" areas for jibs, ollie 180/360, etc. I didn't see that resort on your list

Since you've already done SLC, try Reno.

The casinos have really cheap packages.

I would say Tahoe, New Mexico or maybe go back to Utah. Can't beat Utah in terms of convenience, price and mountain quality. Plus, it may seem like a completely different trip without the wives. Kinda like how Vegas feels like a completely different place when you go with a lady and when you don't.

Hard to beat Snowbird snow and runs, plus it's close to SLC and cheap stays and flights.

we did a trip to reno last year, super fun...they have free shuttles to the resorts from the casinos and other hotels, go ride tahoe all day and head back to reno to party and gamble

or check out big sky, mt. i just moved out here this season and the mountain is siiiick. it's huge with every kind of terrain you could want, really low key, zero lift lines at all and the best part...pow for days
