I'm upgrading my single JL 12w6v2 sub in a sealed box to 2 JL 12w6v2's sub's in another sealed box. I'm powering the single sub with a JL 750/1 HD amplifier. The single box is currently in the compartment behind the drivers seat and the oem sub has been gutted for this frame only. I want to stay stock looking but want the dual setup for SQ and volume. MC - X15.

My Question is:

Will the 2 subs get 750 watts each or is the power divided between the two? If yes that both subs will get 750 watts how does that work and will that be hard on the amp?

I thought I would move up to a JL 1200/1 HD because I thought the amp shared the power....but going to try what I have first.

Personally I would run dual 750.1's to the subs, configured Paralleling each sub to a amp... This will net the Wattage these subs like to see a piece.. If you don't want another amp, I'd downgrade the subs to two SVC4 12w3's with a 750.1.. You cannot Parrallel two DVC4's to one 750.1. sorry...

Oh, I didn't state that you can also series/parallel the the two DVC4s to net a 4 ohm load at the amp and 375 watts to each speaker off one 750.1.. but I wouldn't be happy with that power to those speakers for several reasons.. good luck with the build and choices man

Ok the sealed double box is built and is tuned to 38 hertz and it pounds so f'ing hard!!!

I found out that the single sub was configured to 8 ohms and i'm very disappointed in the original installer as I trusted him to setup the sub for is optimum output.

oh well its set at 4 ohms now and is right as rain now. The shop is going to resin the box inside and out and then cover it in gray carpet to seal it and make the box waterproof...I decided against lineX because its to rough and not as synthetically pleasing.

Pictures to follow...
