Planning on it this next month. I heard the wake is alot better and I really like all the weight only in ballast and you can dump it easily.

If you demo one try the 2 speed tranny it's the only way to go. Well worth the extra money.

We are very happy with ours. I decided on the 6.0L ZR6 instead of the 28 Split but IMO it could have gone either way and been good.

Anyone had the boat in rough water or really weighted down?

I have the team edition boat. Fantastic machine. How ruff is ruff? It rides well in chop with the tanks empty, rides better with them loaded. I run with our full most of the time. The 2 speed is NICE to have. Its nice being able to shift and drop the rpms once your out of the hole. You will be a happy owner.

MB idiot here -- what does the two-speed transmission accomplish? Better fuel economy? Better acceleration? Higher top speed? Less wear on the engine?

Yes,Yes,No, and Yes. The low gear helps you accelerate out of the hole and the high gear is the same as a single speed. When loaded with a lot of weight it makes a huge difference. By not bogging down and getting on plane quicker, you get better economy and less wear on the engine.

I'm going to demo a new one Friday. Now I have to decide on colors. Greg or John or anyone...what do you think of the new wake? Do u each have the new hull or mid -03 hulls? I heard the new one is supposed to me a much steeper wake...thoughts? Do you both have the triple up ballast tanks?
Old    hyperryd            05-20-2004, 5:33 AM Reply
I have the new '04 hull, with 1600lbs in the rear and 250lbs of lead in the very nose. The wake is very large with a very smooth ramp. It gives a lot of pop, but not a hard snap on top. My buddies Tige snaps so hard I end up out of control on take off. It's very big and very predictable.

Had you ridden the 03 hull? My 02 the ramp is too smooth. I like the kick of the SAN. I heard this is similar.

Anyone with pics of their 04 hull wake?

I havent had enough time behind the 03 to comment. I do have the 2100 lb system. usually the tanks arent full. For us, having them about half full is good enough. I will get some wake pics at some point just havent done it yet. When you go out on your test run ride behind it empty, half full and full. 18-20 set on the PP and have fun.

Dave & Lina - Show prices were 49K with 330 and 28 Split for the V3. You will need to price out the options you choose from there. I worked with Kelly and Mike at Sporting Edge in Antoich CA. They were very helpful and worked with us to get a fair deal done. e-mail me if you want more info.

John....

On your boat you put some type of material on the deck...what is that? Looks like a good idea. Is it for the water that goes in there or sratches?

I just got the boat yesterday...drives like a dream. 2 speed with ZR6 motor is awesome. Wake is way bigger then my last B52.

That is Gator Grip. I put it on all of the top surfaces of the boat, for traction and to keep the red hull from getting scratched. It works great. Glad to hear you like your new boat!

Thanks John....where did you get the Gator grip and do you just cut it and stick where ever?
