I'm the yellow boat in the background. I have wakeboards on my boat...so I think that justifies me posting here. Ben Fernie goes off! source of picture: http://www.nwflyin.com/gallery/100_2632.jpg

dont those guys kill themselves if they catch an edge or crash hard? More so than a wakeboard cause you pop out of the bindings? It looks like they are strapped in good.

Been riding foils for about 14 yrs, and wakeboards before that for like 6 or 7. I've taken a few good crashes on both. Not sure which is worse, landing backwards on a 360, catching an edge & having the handle ripped backwards out of my hands.............. or over rotating a big front flip & landing on my chest & face. Crashes on either suck. Lots of guys do both, not to mention barefoot & slalom ski. But I haven't met many "ex foil riders". We don't ever want to come separated from the foil, because then it can come back & hit you. Had that happen with skis & boards too & it still sucks. Eventually you can kind of be like a cat & always get the foil down before you hit the water, then they hurt a little bit less. (Message edited by bill_airjunky on November 12, 2007)

Too funny, I have 100s of pics of Lawrence doing just that. Been awhile since I've followed a boat on my Skyski!

Looks like he's about old enough to learn to swim! Congrats, Dad! This coming from the guy who used to ride in a shorty wetsuit till it was 50 degrees out. Oh, and the originator of the "Sack-cam"!
