Awesome wake! He had only the tanks full and no wedge...it was great. Not real wide, nice ramp...not too vert and it was huge. As a plus I got to drive it for him and it was great to drive. Kickin stereo and a nice layout. TO ME it was better than an X-star and the nautiques I have ridden behind as it suits my comfort levels better. The only thing I noticed was the blade tower made an awful thunking noise when we crossed our own wakes. Do they all do that?
There are shims for that, should have been installed by the dealer, new illusion towers are not torqued as tight as the older ones. I have zero vibrations, rattles, or clunking in any part of the boat- like most all Malibu's; just a solid quiet ride!
It really was quiet besides that. If I were looking, that boat would be on a pretty short list I think. It had tons of room, tons of power, the stereo was awesome, I liked the drivers controls, oh and most importantly my wife really liked it!
I also was able to ride behind a 205V and it had a really nice wake too. Steeper, or more vert, than I really like. All around nice boat, and a great wake with a little weight and people, but not really as big inside. If I were closer to a lake where I could use a boat like that I might be interested.
