I use Palmolive to lube my bindings, it leaves my feet silky smooth. Some guys use shaving cream. Joy has given my board and bindings a permanent lemon smell. Some people are trying to tell me the dish soap will ruin the neoprene over time - Is that true? I already spent a gazillion dollars on my boat and want something cheap!

just make sure it is biodegradeable and i wouldnt worry too much about it harming your bindings since it is washed out 30 seconds after you put it on them. I use 50/50 simple green and water, washes out very easily and makes it easy to get in.

The one thing that I would not use is Simple Green. In the instructions that came with my boat, Simple Green was on the list of products not to use on the vinyl. So I figure it can't do the neoprene any good.

I get 100% food grade silicone from work. Takes very little and lasts a long time. About 5 dollars a can. It is aerosal.

I have used simple green for 3+ years and it has not done any damage to any of my bindings. I mix it less than 50/50, about 25% simple green to 75% water and run it through a bug sprayer I have out the back of my boat

I hear that the food grade silicone is great for keeping drysuit seals from drying out or cracking. Where can you buy it, brand names, etc.?

Hoochie Goo, put it on to the dry binding so use less soap and it's biodegradeable. http://www.hoochiegoo.com/ they also sell the Hot Wrap blankets which are super pimp for the ladies that you need to keep warm.

I've tried Newt Juice, shaving cream, sun screen, joy, and silicone spray. Silicone spray works best hands down. Especially when it's cold water.

Does the silicone rinse away though? That's the thing I hate about dish soap, your bindings are slippery for your whole run. I use shaving cream. Cheap, slippery, washes completely away very quickly.

I guess that's why I like silicone. It stays just slippery enough to allow you to get your feet out of your bindings with out breaking your ankles. I use the exo's and have never had a problem keeping them on.
