I am thinking about tinting the windshield on my 07 210 and was wanting to see some pics and was wondering how dark. Thanks

i have mine tinted on my x-2. dont have any pics right off hand but it is pretty dark... i would say go around 25-35% if you are planning on cruising at night at all. if not you can go darker, just very hard to see out of it when its dark out.

Did Limo tint on my glass. Looks really good during the day but at night I have to look over the windshield because I can't see a darn thing. Theres a pic of my boat on my profile. P.S. My window has a nasty curve too it. The first shop wouldn't do it. The second said no problem and I got two nasty seams. Third and final time took the window out then had it done!

I have limo on mine also. I have to look over the windshield at night also, but I don't mind at all.

Here's a link with the pic on mine.

I think mine is 25%. We haven't driven it at night but I am sure you wouldn't be able to see much. We board in the evening and it is fine.

20% on mine, the boat is pimp but the tint made it that much pimper. Having a boat without tint is like wearing white sox.... "still not pimpin!" LOL!!

Is the tint legal?

Not sure if its legal or not but I've been pulled over several times and they have never said anything about the tint.

Just got mine done, and haven't had it on the water yet. I went with 30% because of visability and now I wish I would have done 20%. I think the darker looks good.

20% here. I don't really boat at night, but would need to look over the windshield as well.

Andrew, I tried it myself but the curved convex window is a beotch to lay tint down on. Save yourself the aggrivation and pay to have it done.
I took my windows off and took it down to the shop. I just didn't like the idea of those hoopleheads climbing in and out of my boat with that slimy water all over the place and having to leave it down there for who knows how long. It took me about 15 minutes to remove them. Its really easy and it was easier and cheaper for the tint guys to do.

I had someone do it....A guy who my buddy has used for boats at his shop. He didn't take the windshield off.

i agree with going limo or as dark as you can get. I think most the time at night im standing above the windshield looking all around.
Newty this might be a dumb ? but how do you take the glass out.

What was the cost on tinting?

I'm not sure if they are the same but I'll bet they are. Just pull the rubber strip out along the bottom of the window and you will see all the screws holding it in. I know on mine, one screw on each side was a machined thread with a nylox nut underneath. The rest were self tapping. Then just pull the pins out of the walk through window hinge. I used vise grips for the machined thread and a cordless, as I had no help at the time.
I paid $175.

Newty,

I figured I'd ask since you took your glass out and you might know.

Will I be able to screw the sliding snaps into a fixed position on the window frame or will I be going into the glass? I know it's off the subject but the grey powdercoating on my frame will scrape off if I continue to let the snaps slide on the frame. I haven't been able to get any info from the window vendor for Skier's Choice. Any info would be great.

Sorry once again for going off subject everyone.

Thanks.

Kevin

Kevin Mine does the same thing my dealer said if you drill through it will break the glass. He suggested gluing the snaps in place. I'm thinking some kind of epoxy of rubber cement to stop that. a couple of mine are getting pretty bad. Kind of a bad design. Something else you can do is maybe put a piece of felt or something soft under it so when it slides it won't scuff. Just thinking out loud. I'd like to avoid the glue route.

Dont drill-all i can say is trust me on that. Barefeet and glass dont mix to well.
