Jabsco water ballast puppy

Anyone know if the Ballast Puppy Wakeboard Towboat Ballast Pump Model No: 18220-1121 would be strong enough to fill and empty two 750 pound rear ballast? By the by the water puppy is to be in the build list of a near and dear product that I love in 2009. Soon in mine if I can make it work.

your fill time is gonna be a pretty long time. I have one filling 2 500 lb ish rear sacs and it takes aprox 20 min

So there slower than the pumps on the skiers choice ballast systems??? But I thought this was the MC ballast set up...course their running three...right?

If those pumps are that slow, then how do you justify the cost. The only advantage then is that they are reversible.

My $25 Tsunami T800 fills my 750# sac in less then 10.

i got a 4000 gph pump for $120...fills like 1600 lbs in about 4/5 min

That sounds better. 20 mins to fill 1k seems real slow for those.

easier to wire up one pump instead of two. foolproof, no priming issues. reversible, so half the hoses, wires, fittings, and holes in gelcoat.

CONS: huge power draw, pretty slow and impeller issues. It would take 3 or 4 to do a system right.

I'll stick to aerator systems.

When I priced out my system, it was $250 more for 3 reversables over 7 aerators. Taking into account hose, wire, etc. Fill/empty time is not even a huge deal for me either.

Nick- what's the name of the pump you have? I've never heard of a pump that does 4000 gph- I'd like to get one of those!

we once had to fill our sacs with one of those gas powered pumps used to pump out partially submerged boats. It took like 15-30 seconds per 350# sac. Needless to say it was awesome.

matt, and if something slipped, 15-30 secs and you have a MAJOR issue. That would be sweet though

they make an 8000 gph pump, but its huge.

the site I got it from ended up going out of business, because they were worthless but here is the pump for ~180

I have 4 simer blue water pumps filling my bags and fill time is like 7 min 1800# BE ALTLAS part # BW8512 77.97 shipped

What's the fastest reversible pump out there?
I'm trying to come up with a cost effective way up upgrading, without having to wire up 2 more pumps...

yep.

fast and reversible don't generally go hand in hand. If ya got gravity figured out, you can design an aerator system. not that complicated and easiest way to flow some serious water.

simer are reversible my system takes about 7 min to fill and 10 to empty
