Malibu? Looks to rampy to be a SAN.
Old     (solo)      Join Date: Oct 2001       06-06-2005, 7:29 PM Reply
Either that or and X Star.

not rampy at all and too steep for an x-star.

so thats an hour of guessing... What is it?
Old    walt            06-06-2005, 7:38 PM Reply
I don't think it's a SAN so I'll go with a X-2 with a lot of weight.

Zodiac w/6 really fat chicks in the back.
Old    wayknbayk            06-06-2005, 7:56 PM Reply
yeah..doesnt look steep enough to be an SAN. I would say an MC of some sort because it doesnt look like it has a trough going into the wake.

Im sticking with the guns, SAN

Im saying way to vert for Bu and not enough transition for X-star

I'm gonna say X-star.

Kevin that's your wake isn't it?

"not enough transition for X-star": I agree
"Im saying way to vert for Bu": I agree

Maybe an X-2 if the back is heavily loaded.

Joe said 80' and SAN wakes are narrow. I'm sticking with SAN too.

Thane--naw.. not my wake..but I def. think its a M/C wake.. still sticking with the x-2 ..
J-rod.. I think you hit the nail on the head..
heavily weighted in the rear X-2.

X-2 or SAN or SV-211
Old     (big_ed_x2)      Join Date: Jul 2004       06-07-2005, 7:59 AM Reply
x-2 or a SAN and if I saw the rooster tail I would be certain but as of now that is my best guess.

Tho it is impossible to name the wake when you only see one side!

ok the boat has 1800-1900lbs, speed is about 24mph, Joe is riding at 80' and there was a large crew in the boat. I will post the answer later.

Ok all thanks for playing the "name that wake" game. Below is a pic of the bad a$$ boat that throws the sickest wake ever.

Old     (mossy44)      Join Date: Oct 2001       06-07-2005, 12:53 PM Reply
ant - how did you have that weight dispersed? just curious.
Old     (antbug)      Join Date: Jul 2004       06-07-2005, 1:31 PM Reply
Matt ~ stock ballast, 350lbs sac in each locker, 300lbs of lead in the nose. I don't like it when people start counting people but there was a large crew that day.
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       06-07-2005, 1:36 PM Reply
That's the exact boat I ordered (color and everything). 2 more weeks... Do you think I'm stoked? I still say one of the best wakes ever. I also love how much weight you can stack in it and still not have to worry about dipping the nose.

I'm sure J-Rod will be stoked to see what kinda wicked wake his new boat will make, too. Now if those boats will just get here. I'm tempted to drive to the factory and pick it up myself.
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       06-07-2005, 1:38 PM Reply
bug, you forgot to count the full tank of gas!
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       06-07-2005, 1:39 PM Reply
I do want to know how you had it weighted. I think I'm gonna start with factory ballast, then add 400lbs of lead to the nose and 65lbs lead on each side of the motor.

Oh yeah, then I'll stack in 10 people. BTW, did that boat have the MCX motor and if so, how did the Master Craft speed control work?

Speaking of a full crew, I was looking at this boat this past weekend at Copes and I'm curious at how big of a crew you could comfortably have. The inside looks pretty cramped. Especially if you ride where it is often cold and can't use the bow seating for a good part of the year. I'd guess anything more than a five person crew would have people tripping over each other and stuff. Comments?
Old     (antbug)      Join Date: Jul 2004       06-07-2005, 3:37 PM Reply
Brian ~ most crews only have 5 riders or less. This way everone gets a good set or 2. We had 7 people on the boat that day, but remember one person is in the water riding and 3 of them were ladies.

To be comfortable in a X2 I would say no more that 5 people cause when you start adding fat sacs and all the gear it's a little tight.

Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       06-07-2005, 3:37 PM Reply
We ride a small crew in the winter. 3-4 riders max. Otherwise wet gear and storage is an issue. I used to have a boat load full of riders. It's smaller groups from now on.

Nice wake. I can't wait to dial mine in.

I had 9 adults and a cooler at Havasu and it was fine, tho we used the bow!
Old     (trojanman)      Join Date: May 2002       06-07-2005, 8:19 PM Reply
Thanks for all the compliments guys... i gotta say that i love that wake, i have just dialed it in and i run..

350 lead in bow
700 rear sacks
stock ballasts...
But, im picking up an extra 300 in lead to put smack dab in the middle.. whats the ish bug..

gotta say, the boat planes out fast, and the wake is killer, it doesnt need much weight to throw an epic wake
Old    wickedwake            06-07-2005, 8:37 PM Reply
Better watch out! "Epic" is now a wakeboat manufacturer, so if it is throwing and "epic wake"

Joshua...what is the stock ballast set-up in an X-2? Trying to figure out exactly how much total weight you're running and where you have it in that thing. Sick boat and wake...you're a lucky dude.

Better put Big Ed...hey you've got an X-2, what is the stock ballast set-up? Would like to mimic you and Josh's weight scheme on my X-5...although obviously will have to downsize it some due to much smaller boat, but would like to use the same weight ratio and see what it looks like just for fun. Thanks.
Old     (big_ed_x2)      Join Date: Jul 2004       06-08-2005, 10:00 AM Reply
me and josh run a totally different set up.

My stock ballast says it's like 1000lbs but in reality it's more like 700lbs.What I'd like to do is take my boat on a scale with and without the ballasts full to see exatly how much it weights.
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       06-08-2005, 10:16 AM Reply
why? if you weigh the boat and find out that the stock ballast is only 500lbs, will that prompt you to add more weight? i thought you're happy with the wake already.
Old     (twakess)      Join Date: Mar 2002       06-08-2005, 10:42 AM Reply
Joe, I would like to know how close this wake is to the way I have my boat set up.
Old     (big_ed_x2)      Join Date: Jul 2004       06-08-2005, 10:42 AM Reply
definetely happy with it and no I wouldn't add more weight,It more just to know exactly what it is and how much do boat companies exaggirate(sp)?on the ballasts systems.
I wouldn't be surprized if it was right around 600lbs.
Old     (big_ed_x2)      Join Date: Jul 2004       06-08-2005, 10:45 AM Reply
And also if I know EXACTLY how much weight I'm running...I could get exactly the right prop.for it to be more fuel efficiant!

Ed. If you care to take the time, you could measure the amount of gallons going into your system with a lot of patience. 8.3 pounds for each gallon I believe.
