camcorder

I'm planing on getting a camcorder for xmas and was wondering what my best option for wakeboarding would be. It doesnt need to be cheap(can be up to around $1000). What I'm looking for is miniDV or hardrive what ever is better (don't know if hardrive is as good for editing, needs to be), I want whatever has the best overal image in that price range, obviously good for fast moving action, good for outdoor lighting, and i can get a case for it (i would like a sony camcorder because i really like there waterproof case, but something else would be fine also), if thers something that takes good stills also that would be nice but i know there arent really any of these.

Go w/the minidv. I havent done much filming lately but I always had good results w/it. Also in the price range you will end up w/a pretty good camera. Good luck w/it all and post the videos once you get everything going.
